Dear MGBX Users,
Recently, the MGBX Security Team has detected that some users’ login credentials and two-factor authentication data may have been compromised by malware (commonly known as “Eastern European Trojan libraries,” such as RedLine, Raccoon, Lumma, etc.).
These viruses mainly target browser caches, email passwords, Google 2FA keys, and crypto wallet files. Stolen data is then uploaded to dark web servers and sold in bulk, later used to attack platform accounts.
Main Infection Methods
- Disguised as airdrop tools, wallet “enhanced” versions, or cracked software.
- Fake Chrome/Telegram plugins (e.g., “Wallet Helper,” “Crypto Airdrop Checker”).
- Phishing links spread through social groups (Telegram, Discord, Weibo, etc.) that trick users into logging into “verification websites.”
- Infected browser sync features (e.g., Chrome syncing passwords or autofill data).
User Protection Measures
Please immediately self-inspect and take the following steps:
- Full device scan
- Use genuine antivirus software (e.g., Windows Defender, Malwarebytes, ESET) for a full system scan.
- Check system startup items and browser extensions for unknown plugins.
- Reset security credentials
- Log in to the [official website/app] and change your login password (ensure it’s not reused elsewhere).
- Rebind Google Authenticator (delete the old key, generate a new one).
- Check your email and mobile accounts to ensure no unfamiliar devices are linked.
- Avoid unverified tools or software
- Do not download third-party “airdrop tools,” “enhancement plugins,” or “wallet scripts.”
- Never enter account passwords or verification codes on unofficial sites.
- Enable multi-layer protection
- Enable SMS verification, email verification, or device fingerprint protection.
- Verify withdrawal addresses and beware of clipboard address hijacking.
Platform Security Actions
- Enhanced risk control verification for login, email modification, and withdrawals.
- Real-time monitoring and blocking of abnormal logins and risky devices.
- Strongly recommend updating to the latest App version for improved protection.
If You Suspect Infection or Account Abnormalities
If you notice unusual logins, withdrawals, or verification errors, please immediately contact official support. We will help lock your account and guide you through malware removal.
⚠️ Reminder: Never trust non-official tools or plugins. Always access your account via the official website or app, and regularly update your passwords and 2FA keys.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
MGBX Team
